Monrobe Monday – OOTD – Jeans & a Kimono | Being Maddie & Charlie's Mom

So I have a feeling I am going to have a lot of “Wow you look so good in jeans!”, “You should wear them more often” – only because I don’t wear them often – only because I live in DURBAN where the temp is (or feels like) never under 35 Deg. I am super excited for Winter – not only to finally cool down and stop sweating all day but to dress up! I LOVE dressing up in Winter!

I adore this look – it is so super comfy and understated! Never underestimate the power of a pair of GOOD jeans and a pretty kimono to give it that ‘WOW’ look!

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a truly proudly South African brand called Rooi Rok Bokkie last week when I met the owner and designer, Tarryn at vida e SMG Rocks for a cuppa. I not only found out that we are both absolute animal lovers and spoke more about our cats and dogs than we did fashion!

This proudly South African ladies label is relatively new to the market and is available from the SAM – South African Made Store at Umhlanga Centre. When looking through her Instagram page (@rooi_rok_bokkie) one thing is evident – beautiful everything (from dresses to cute pants) in gorgeous fabrics!

As for the name, Tarryn wanted a proudly South African name and being a fellow animal lover herself decided to use Bokkie which is a term in Afrikaans for a little buck and is used for a term of endearment for those you love! And this is where her logo comes from too! So incredibly unique!

Another interesting fact about the brand, Tarryn names all of her pieces after her own and her friends cats and dogs! So I am pleased to introduce my Kay’s Kimono 🙂
