This week marks Monrobe By Monique De Villiers’s first birthday! I cannot believe it was just a year ago that I decided to turn my little Monrobe hashtag, fashion outfits of the day into a full blown dedicated blog. Today I have amazing followers who not only interact with me on a daily basis but inspire me to push myself to do better OOTD posts, showcase the most affordable and stylish plus size fashion there is out there but also try out all the best beauty products and treatments there is on offer.

Honestly, the most rewarding thing at the end of each post is receiving the many messages thanking me, giving me support and motivating me. To know that I am inspiring many plus size, and even ‘average’ sized girls through my confidence, OOTDs and advice is what motivates me on a daily basis.

In a world of ‘fat shaming’ and chasing perfection, I feel like confidence is hard to find when this is all around us. I have been lucky enough to find self acceptance and have been inspired by other beautiful plus size Instagrammers who have helped me on my path to body positivity. Honestly there is no reason why plus size girls cannot be beautiful, sexy, attractive and inspiring – any more than the slender models we are taught to aspire to be.

Loving, accepting and embracing who you are – curvy, slender, large, small, loud, quite, proud or humble… it is rare.

So as I blow out the candle to Monrobe’s very first birthday cupcake and celebrate the year that was, I thought I would share with you Monrobe’s first year in numbers:
