What Maddie Loves – Sleepyhead Review | Being Maddie & Charlie's Mom

Going into motherhood I thought I was prepared. I started buying everything I thought I needed before my 12 week scan! The cot, compactum and pram, even blankets and dummies. I thought I had everything I needed for Maddie’s arrival. BUT boy was I wrong!

It isn’t often you find an item you simply cannot imagine life without! When Maddie got sent one of these amazing pods from Sleepyhead last month, I found myself wishing to have purchased it before her birth because they are that amazing!

Recently launched into South Africa coming aaaaaallll the way from Sweden in Europe, these Sleepyheads (known as DockATot overseas) come endorsed by the Kardashians – they don’t travel anywhere without their sleepyheads!

In the month that we have used this amazing product – I have honestly fallen in love with it and I am finding myself telling all my mommy and mommy-to-be friends to invest in one!

So what is this amazing ‘sleeping pod’ I am talking about? It’s a multifunctional pod for your baby that helps he or she feel safe, snug and soothed! Whether it’s lounging, playing, chilling or resting, it can be used around the house (awake or sleeping), as a cot insert to keep them snug as a bug, as a co-sleeper in your own bed, as a play pod – it’s perfect for tummy time – Maddison’s personal favourite!, as a travel bed (we’ve taken it to a few braais and dinner parties and Maddie sleeps like the dead in it), as a sleep positioner or as a changing station. The possibilities of this pod are endless!

Best thing about it is it ‘reinvents the womb’ for your baby and can be used from birth to around eight months. The Sleepyhead has a clip-able extender for as your babe grows to give you added length. Another awesome feature on the Sleepyhead are the two handles which make carrying your Sleepyhead around super easy!

Not only does it provide Maddie with a soft, nurturing and cozy space but helps her feel calmer when lying in the snug environment it provides her, almost mimicking my womb to help her feel comforted.

Oh and the prints! These amazing pods come in the most amazing colours and prints! I was lucky enough to get a chevron print – which we adore! Maddie’s room is full of chevron prints so it blends right in!
