My Esse Ballito Experience

There’s something magical about walking into the Esse Ballito Concept Store… Soft soothing music fills the air and pearly white counters display beautiful lit up products – each given a space to ‘shine’. Botanical prints fill the walls and a a sheer grey curtain separates the ‘store front’ to the treatment rooms. Quite honestly one of the most beautiful spas I have been to and to think it’s located at a shopping centre!

I am greeted by a therapist behind the counter who, at the press of a button draws open a curtain to reveal an inviting royal blue couch alongside a green marble coffee table and a burning tea light candle. I am offered a glass of water and left to fill in my client form. I automatically feel right at home with the drawn curtain providing a sense of privacy from the hustle and hustle that I know awaits outside the shop front. I could quite honestly be in the middle of nowhere – there is a still calm.

I exhale and instantly loosen my shoulders… it isn’t often as a busy mom on-the-go that you get to truly pause and take a moment to appreciate an hour dedicated to yourself.

I am familiar with the organic, cruelty free, vegan skincare range having received product in goodie bags at my work events before but I would be lying if I said I have truly given the range a proper try.

The Esse team got in touch with me to invite me to experience one of their most popular treatments for ‘newbies’ to the brand at their newly opened flagship Concept Store at Ballito Lifestyle Centre which officially opened in November last year. What an absolute treat!

I of course couldn’t say no to experiencing the range that aims to restore barrier function in the skin by reintroducing essential microbes and probiotics that have been lost over the years. Sounds like magic right?

I was ushered to the treatment room where I slipped into a soft warm gown and managed to tucked myself warmly into their spacious and soft bed before the therapist joined me to start my Bespoke Facial… a facial that tailored with products according to each client’s needs. The beauty of the spa is that all their treatments on offer are specially designed to showcase the brand’s range of facial and body products. What a great way to get a proper feel for the range!

While I tried to relax and enjoy the process without having to mentally pay too much attention to what and how to share with you… the process went something like this;  a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, a mask, a relaxing foot massage (heaven),  toner, treatment application and moisturise.

A highlight for me… the aromatic aromas of each product. From peppermint and spearmint to citrus… there’s no denying that Esse products are filled with probiotic, certified organic, cruelty-free and vegan goodness!

Esse is totally unique in that they were the first brand in the world to offer a Probiotic Serum which contains 50 million live probiotics per drop!

Esse comprises of three main ranges: Esse Sensitive (what they recommend people start on and also for those who have skin that is prone to reacting easily), Core (for normal/combination skin and where the majority of their products originate) and Plus (this is where the anti-ageing and live probiotic products live).
I absolutely loved getting a first hand smell and feel for the products suited to my skincare needs. My therapist was incredibly attentive and explained each step and my skincare needs in detail and made the experience a total stand out for me. I was comfortable, warm, relaxed, enjoyed the silence and most importantly my face felt incredible leaving Esse Ballito and the week after. I was given a portion of cream to apply for a few days after which I thought was an amazing touch.
Once I left the store and met Brett in the centre he said “Wow your face is glowing…” coming from my husband who is clueless about beauty and facials – I thought this was impressive!

Thank you for having me Esse Ballito!
